Job Description

What you can expect in a typical day:

As a Construction & Engineering Sourcing Specialist you will have the responsibility and accountability for performing the leadership, behavioural and functional requirements according to the Competency Framework in the areas of Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Relationship Management, Purchasing Policies and Methodologies, Change Management, Contract Law and Management, Negotiating, Consulting and Project Management.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Understanding of construction and engineering contracts, including Master Goods and/or Services Agreements, Professional Services Agreements, Scopes of Work and other agreements
  • Understand the business requirements of your stakeholders, including their markets, strategies, priorities and plans, to support the development and implementation of strategic sourcing strategies
  • Support and implement the strategic sourcing process (RFIs, RFPs, contracting)
  • Support the development and implementation of negotiating strategies
  • Analyze demand patterns and price behavior and forecast prices to assist business stakeholders in optimization of purchasing decisions
  • Support the identification and achievement of savings opportunities, including internal Total Cost of Ownership reduction initiatives and supplier consolidation and optimization activities across business functions
  • Build and develop supplier relationships that will add value to the business including engagement with stakeholders to monitor and resolve issues with supplier performance
  • Execute supply management methodologies, processes, policies and procedures
  • Identify external and internal stakeholders and their requirements and engage appropriately in activities
  • Understand legal concepts as they pertain to proposals, contracting and executing on existing contracts
  • Identify issues, develop hypotheses, establish data frameworks, conduct analyses, draw conclusions and develop proposals

Travel

Education and experience

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in B.Comm, BA, Community College
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or similar designation an asset
  • Min 2-5 years’ experience working in Supply Chain Management
  • Experience working in the oil and gas industry is an asset
  • Good knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
