Job title: Construction Project Manager

The Project Manager will take ownership of projects by being responsible for the entire project delivery process and accountable for the implementation and realization of projects. As such, they will plan, organize, direct, and manage all facets of construction projects and ensure pre-established costs, schedule and scope objectives are achieved.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Overseeing all aspects of construction in coordination with engineers and trade subcontractors
  • Overseeing complex ICI and commercial ground up new build projects
  • Planning all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
  • Managing project budgets and schedules working in close concert with the owner and GC/CM
  • Conducting site meetings on a regular basis to manage project progress.
  • Overseeing all planning of the project through to the SPA (site plan approval) and awarding of building permits.
  • Managing the day-to-day project operations for the build, directly overseeing the third-party CM and trades / external stakeholders; report project progress to key internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with engineers, architects, etc. to determine the specifications of the projects.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful:

  • Project Management experience, managing medium-large scale construction projects.
  • A degree or technical diploma in Construction, Building, or Civil Engineering
  • Excellent budgeting and scheduling skills.
  • Experience managing and supervising staff.
  • Strong computer skills, advanced knowledge of MS Office.
  • Ability to demonstrate a track record of successfully completed projects.
  • Ability to quickly build strong relationships and resolve complex issues.
  • Exceptional communication, time management and negotiating skills with ability to work as a leader, in a team environment.

Remote work: No. The position is based in our head office in Markham and requires local travel to construction sites.
