Our well established Oil and Gas client’s Project Development and Execution Department is looking for an experienced and driven Cost Specialist to provide support to our team in Calgary, AB

Please note that this position is located in Calgary, AB and local candidates are preferred. Non-local candidates will be considered but must be willing to secure their own accommodations, as there is no camp, LOA, or accommodation allowance provided.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Accountable for conducting monthly reporting and data integrity
  • Provide updates on project cost status and project cost forecast monthly or as needed
  • Responsible for cost control and estimating data integration
  • Prepare and maintain incurred cost flow status of project
  • Prepare and maintain effective trends system including presentation to Management of Change
  • Establish and maintain effective interfaces with Procurement/Contracts work processes
  • Responsible for requisition and formation activities, including scope (pay item) and funding identification
  • Oversee claims, back charges, and surplus identification
  • Establish and maintain cost baseline alignment
  • Attend the monthly construction status meeting
  • Other roles as required

Qualifications:

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s of Business Administration or Commerce
  • Certified Cost Professional (CCP) considered an asset
  • 4 – 6 years of experience
  • CSO Common Safety Orientation (or equivalent) (or must obtain prior to start)
  • If this position is classified as safety risk sensitive, you must also be able to pass pre-access drug & alcohol testing.
  • Successfully pass a criminal background check.
  • Authorized to legally work in Canada (eligible to work in the country for the duration of the assignment.

Required Safety training / equipment (if applicable)

  • Driving on Site
