On behalf of our client, Procom is looking for a Data Program Engineer to join their team of engineers, at their Vancouver office. As the Data Programming Engineer, you will:

• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
• Assemble large and complex datasets that meets our business requirements
• Develop and implement procedures to maintain integrity and security of data deployed on the cloud
• Aggregate from diverse data sources
• Work closely with Data Scientists and Algorithm Engineers to identify new patterns and trends in data and assist them in building the optimal algorithms
• Develop and implement processes and systems to monitor data quality and ensuring production data is always accurate and available for consumption
• Must work with limited supervision and will be involved in and have input to project planning.

Mandatory Skills for the Data Programming Engineer are:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other related degree with 3 years of experience in data engineering, analytics or related field. Masters or PhD is desired.
• Experience with :

• Building end-to-end cloud based data pipeline
• Architecting scalable, distributed and fault-tolerant database system
• Advanced and highly-optimized queries across large datasets with SQL or NoSQL databases
• Strong analytics skills related to working with unstructured datasets
• Production experience with AWS or Azure
• Knowledge of some of these skills:

• Matlab
• Programming Languages: Javascript, Python, Golang, C++, etc.
• Version control tool such as Git
• Familiarity with Machine Learning algorithms and tools is a plus
• Strong foundation in programming, file processing and data engineering
• Team player, willing to learn on the job
