Position Profile:

The Director, Information & Communication Technology (ICT) is responsible for the planning, procurement, development, implementation and support of all information and communication technology (including biomedical devices and their integration to our systems), leading organization wide systems improvement using innovative practices and tools, and driving operational excellence. The Director, ICT will contribute to creating a safe and healthy patient-centered environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers, and others, while working in compliance with the Hospital code of conduct and policies.

This role is accountable for ensuring that service delivery processes are not only efficient and cost-effective but aim to also exceed expectations. This role will champion ongoing quality improvement, seek customer feedback, and take an agile approach to ensuring service offerings meet the needs of the organization and our patients.

An effective and compassionate leader, the Director will encourage growth and learning within the team, encouraging development and ongoing education in-line with the needs of the organization and the aspirations of their team.

Always mindful that hospitals run 24-hours a day, the Director champions and enables their teams to achieve a high-level of system availability and reliability, ensuring systems are online and ready for staff and physicians to use and that any outages or downtime are mitigated or minimized as best as possible.

The Director, ICT is a trusted and valued partner of the clinical programs, supporting the goals and objectives of the organization and its programs through innovative solutions that build upon the existing technologies and principles set forth by the organization, the ‘Digital Health & Technology Steering Committee’, and outlined in the new ‘Information & Communication Technology Roadmap’.

Candidate Profile:

  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or equivalent required
  • Master’s Degree in Business or Health Administration desirable
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role is desirable, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Enthusiastic and creative leader with the ability to inspire people
  • Excellent change management and transformational leadership skills, with strong ability to coach and mentor team members through change
  • Knowledge of formal Project Management techniques and best practices
