The Solution Architecture team partners and engages directly with business and technology leaders across Nike in planning, crafting, maintaining and executing solution approaches that are aligned to the roadmaps and architectural principles established by enterprise architecture.Who we are looking for As a Director of Architecture within the Strategic Enterprise Capabilities (SEC) team, you will lead a highly visible team that is passionate about aligning strategic objectives with demands Direct to Consumer and Sales. You will build, lead, and deliver strategic direction, run a team of solution architects, handle priorities, create and delivery of architecture roadmaps. This position will engage, collaborate and partner with various functional heads, technical leaders and executive partners to understand long and short term strategies, provide thought leadership, and engage in proactive planning of a phased, executable technology roadmap. These roadmaps will address the strategic and tactical business and technology priorities as well as identify challenges and align to intended business outcomes. This role will also play significant part in helping to establish the practice of Solution Architecture within Nike and will bring broad experiences in driving quality and consistency in solution architecture approaches and projects enterprise wide.What you will work on • Lead specific End-to-End Strategic Designs across multiple domains • Drive and facilitate the right discussions that identify business solutions in relation to current and future technology landscape • Create Architecture roadmaps including North Star and transitional architectures • Present recommendations and solutions clearly and concisely while focusing on key points to portray the intended message or purpose • Advocate and drive adoption of standard methodologies to ensure consistency of solution architecture outputs across the enterprise • Serve in the role of a Solution Architect to present compelling digital viewpoints integrating and scaling digital commerce solutions, and the delivery of innovative and scalable client solutions • Identify new opportunities and serve as a technical domain specialist on business development teams and lead RFI, RFQ, and client proposal efforts • Work with multi-functional teams (marketing, UX designers, IT teams) to develop optimal customer experience solutions that balance technical feasibility, deployment timelines, customer experience, and business value • Analyze customer insights and operational data to showcase value and identify additional opportunities for improvement • Cross-initiative analysis of enterprise-level technology portfolio including identification of gaps and sequencing opportunities • Align with corporate strategies through strong business and technical thought leadership • Effectively handle priorities, work, and timelines with little need for escalation • Translate business needs to technical implementations • Lead and Deliver Domain Driven Design for focus area • Think strategically and act tacticallyWho you will work with • Mentor and Coach Architects • Collaborate closely with Architect Leadership and leaders to develop portfolio specific architecture roadmaps and FROM-TO solution architectures • Work closely with Reference Architecture and Platform teams to drive prioritization of needed capabilities • Partner and communicate effectively with Senior Leaders • Collaborate and partner across various teams/groups to execute projects What you bring • 10+ years combined hands-on engineering experience with public cloud, distributed computing, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), and custom developed solutions • 5+ years of experience managing and/or leading teams in Technology, ideally managing large, multi-functional teams or projects • A Bachelor’s degree or better in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other relevant field • Experience working in a Distributed/Cloud-based environment (e.g. Amazon EC2, GCE, Rackspace, Azure, etc.) • Experience in SAP technologies • Prior experience designing and implementing highly-scalable web applications • Diverse and deep experience in service architecture, Domain Driven Design, and RESTful Services • You possess strong, verifiable knowledge of application architecture, design and development, as well as various other technology architectures on various hardware platforms • You have solid skills using Agile methodologies, with familiarity in other methodologies as projects may require • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) • You can effectively influence senior level management and key partners, with an ability to communicate abstract concepts to diverse audiences through graphic presentations, verbally, and in writing • You can manage multiple activities simultaneously with minimal direction, while relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals • You have an ability to quickly cut though sophisticated issues and chooses the best solutions and course of action • Demonstrated track record of leading within matrixed organizations requiring strong influence leadership skills – ability to work cooperatively at all levels in matrix environment • Strong facilitation skills and experience with Executives – relationship, partnership, and interactions • Outstanding collaboration, listening, written and verbal communication skills with ability to facilitate technology strategy, requirements and architecture conversations with all partners (management, business users, and technology resources) • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of B2B and B2C digital commerce platforms and fulfillment models • Proven hands-on experience implementing technology in one or more of the following digital commerce areas: Sterling DOMS, S/4 Fashion, including configuring the environment and leading solution demos • Knowledge of key data subject areas for consumer and customer • Self-starter with high motivation and passion who thrives in a constantly evolving, fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to change • Strong leadership, confidence, and influencing skills.
