Job title: Director of Finance
Job description: Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Finance is responsible for leading a team of finance and accounting professionals in through the tasks of reporting, policy creation and maintenance, and year end audits. This position will work closely with each of the corporate entities and their staff for finance liaison as a support to operations. Additionally, the Director of Finance will partner with the executive leadership team and other cross functional teams to enhance and integrate all organizational functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES of the Director of Finance include:
- Guide finance team members, clarify responsibilities and develop and training to maximize individual and organizational performance
- Ownership over GL accounts and reporting
- Responsible for compliance with GAAP
- Internal controls
- Strategic liaison including budgeting, forecasting
- Conducting relevant analysis and making recommendations
- Financial strategic planning, including spearhead the annual budgeting and forecasting process
- Support executive leadership to stay current on financial operating models and delivery
- Make improvements to automate financial processes
- Act as a point of contact to auditors at year end
- Government reporting as required (CRA, Ministry)
- Cash management and controls
- Complete due diligence and support for mergers and acquisitions by conducting assessments of systems including managing the transition
- Strengthen internal cross functional collaboration and communication
