Having recently received HACCP certification, we’re well poised for growth into new markets and planning for significant expansion over the coming years.

About the Role:
This role is responsible for strategic business planning and overseeing RFRK financial systems, processes and controls. As a member of the Strategic Leadership Team, the Director of Finance & Administration contributes to short and long term planning, conducts financial analyses for the CEO to identify key performance opportunities/challenges, and supports management decisions and planning.
Some of the things you’ll get paid to do:
Finance & Accounting
Responsible for department and strategic planning
Functions across a wide range of responsibilities from high level analysis and working on business issues with the Strategic Leadership Team (SLT)
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, adhere to best-practice accounting methods
Oversees process and approves monthly and annual budget/forecasts to ensure alignment with strategic goals and provides support for variance analysis
Maintain an appropriate capital structure to enable strategic objectives without undue risk exposure
Cost Accounting
Developing cost standards for goods and labour
Developing and updating cost accounting and operational processes and procedures around the costing processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
Overseeing cost control process and preparing monthly and quarterly cost accounting reports
Performing variance analysis as compared to budgets and actuals
Providing reports and commenting on cost factors affecting costs allocations and profitability of the business
People Leadership
Foster a culture that promotes ethical practices and encourages individual integrity, accountability and responsibility
Provide regular feedback and coaching to encourage development of the team
Proactively develop a team of A players with the knowledge, skills, energy and passion
Lead performance management and employee engagement process for everyone on your team
Administration
Responsible for management of Office Administration
Manage IT services, health benefits, and insurance contract negotiations
Oversee payroll processes and payroll and benefit budgets
Oversee the implementation of annual Total Rewards strategies and programs
Responsible for monitoring funding opportunities (grants, tax credits, subsidies etc) and project management of applications and claims
About You
Must-haves:
- Degree in Accounting, Business, Commerce or Finance
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance management role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience in cost accounting and forecasting
- Extensive knowledge and experience dealing with governance, accounting and payroll systems, budgets, internal controls, CRA, business planning, and asset management
- Experience within a mid-sized company addressing issues of organic growth and scaling
Nice-to-haves:
- Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA or CGA)
- MBA is an asset
- French Language skills
Compensation: $100k – $120k
