Job title: Director of Information Management and Technology

Job description: The recruitment team at Myticas Consulting is looking for a Director of Information Management and Technology that leads the activities, decisions, and recommendations that influence the overall direction and success of the administration of information management, information technology and cybersecurity protection and its direct impact on the quality, effectiveness, security, resiliency, and cost of all information processing systems used by the Authority.

This position evaluates the feasibility of proposed technology while considering costs, infrastructure and network capacity, priorities, and deadlines.

Essential functions:

  • Plans and manages the human and financial resources of the IM/IT group to meet the current and anticipated objectives of the organization and ensures that IT services are meeting or exceeding service expectations and are delivered efficiently and effectively;
  • Develops and supervises employees of the IM/IT group by defining and prioritizing goals, providing guidance and work direction, promoting personal and professional development, and providing staff training;
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with all levels of the airport authority’s senior management group and proactively advises the Vice President of IT and CISO on all things related to IM, IT and Cyber security;
  • Protects the Authority from any potential IM/IT security vulnerabilities;
  • Manages the threat risk assessment (TRA) process and implements findings from the TRA report;
  • Champions cybersecurity awareness and discipline among staff;
  • Working with the Procurement and Contracting team leads contracting and procurement processes including RFP’s and effective utilization of third-party service providers;
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with external stakeholders, consultants, vendors, and other airport Authority entities;
  • Plans, directs and controls all systems and operational activities of the IM/IT division including, project delivery, day-to-day operations of help desk, desktop, infrastructure, application, network operations and security;
  • Leads the delivery of multiple IM/IT initiatives including, but not limited to: Web Content Management System, Customer Relationship Management, Document Management, Intranet, Extranet, and Single Sign On;
  • Approves and recommends IM/IT hardware and software solutions in conjunction with the Authority’s corporate priorities and strategic direction;
  • Implements and follows Project Management and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies to ensure that required systems are introduced across the organization in an efficient and effective manner;
  • Provides input to annual reports, budgets, and operational plans;
  • Schedules projects including establishing objectives and resource requirements, priorities, schedules, and deadlines;
  • Manages and supervises staff which includes planning and assigning work, work review, completing annual performance appraisals, talent management, mentoring, and developing training plans; and
  • Involved in the hiring process for both the IM and IT team, in addition to consultants (on a per project basis).

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Post-secondary school education in Computer Technology – Computing Science or in a related discipline with five (5) or more years’ of related experience OR possession of a secondary school diploma with a minimum of eight (8) years’ of related experience;
  • Previous leadership experience at the Director level, with strong project management experience in various methodologies;
  • Proven industry experience working with significant degree of creativity and independence;
  • Experience managing technology solutions that align closely with Cyber security best practices, ISO27001, NIST CSF, CIS, etc.;
  • Knowledge of the methods, techniques and practices involved in computer systems analysis and programming and in designing network architecture, configuring workstations, and servers;
  • Knowledge of network monitoring methods and management tools;
  • Knowledge of emerging solutions, applications and technologies, critical thinking and communication skills;
  • Knowledge in Meraki Wi-Fi, Data Center management, and VMware;
  • Knowledge in Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS), Cisco networking – N7K core switching, routers, switches, ASA, etc., Cisco MDS switches, Fortinet and Cisco Firewalls, and Microsoft Azure Cloud;
  • Knowledge of document management, records management, forms integration, and document classification;
  • Knowledge in Dell EMC storage SAN and other hyper converged technologies;
  • Knowledge in SharePoint – Cloud and on Premises;
  • Familiar with control standards from ISO27001 and NIST CSF; and
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

The following will be considered as assets:

  • Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) certificate, VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certificate, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certificate, and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) 2003 Track certificate;
  • Bilingualism (English and French).
