The Director of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for the overall management, strategy, and execution of the IT infrastructure for the Industrial Equipment Group (Marmon Industrial Water and Enersul). This position oversees technology operations and information systems across multiple facilities, evaluating them according to established goals and standards, and driving toward continuous improvement.

This position is located in the Burlington, Ontario office, with responsibility for information systems, technology, and personnel across all facilities. With a business partner mindset and a goal-oriented project-based approach, the Director of IT will work closely with the executive team and other business leaders across all functions to design and build solutions that drive success through IT Innovation.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Develop and align resources to support the daily needs of the business.
  • Outsource Level-1 support to Skynet Innovation
  • Drive a customer-service and business partner mindset throughout the IT department, building a culture focused on supporting the business and enabling employees to work effectively.
  • In partnership with business leaders, align IT capabilities to meet the needs of the organization
  • Oversee IT operations, including but not limited to management of corporate business applications, management of end user desktop computers and software, management of network communications equipment, management of data communications equipment and services, management of corporate phone communications equipment and software, management of systems security processes.
  • Establish and implement IT-related policies in coordination with Marmon and Industrial Equipment Group Leadership.
  • Monitor internal controls and security procedures to safeguard corporate data and technology assets. Ensure that the Marmon Industrial Equipment Group is compliant with all Marmon cybersecurity policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Prepare and monitor departmental budgets and IT-related capital expenditure plans.
  • Responsible for supporting and sustaining the health of the organization. Identify, develop and retain top talent. Develop and coach employees to achieve maximum potential. Sustain a customer-focused culture of innovation, high energy, and performance.
  • Recognize new developments in information system technology and anticipate organizational modifications.
  • Establish long-term needs for information systems, and plan strategies for developing systems and acquiring hardware to meet application needs.
  • Acts as primary IT personnel in Burlington, addressing issues hands on as needed.

Qualifications, Skills, Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT-related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT-related role.
  • Proven track record of IT/Management experience with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, time-sensitive projects and competing priorities.
  • Experience implementing systems and service integrations in growth organization, including ERPs and CRMs.
  • Strong customer service mentality with the ability to align with company business plans.
  • Experience with programming
  • Analytical: Ability analyze trends and data, and convert them into useful information
  • Problem solving: Ability to use critical thinking to resolve issues
  • Results oriented: uses hard work and drive to accomplish quality outcomes.
  • Financial acumen: understands budget management, negotiation, and able to explain through main point communication.
  • Business acumen: Ability to maintain business relationships with those at all levels within the organization, and also with those in leadership at the Group Level.

Travel Requirement:

Up to 15% of the time
