We are looking for someone to lead the Platform Engineering team, supporting software and infrastructure across RippleX, including infrastructure we run as members of the XRPL community. We have a big vision and the ambition to match. You also see the huge potential of this technology and have the entrepreneurial spirit and technical excellence to realize the vision we have. There is a lot of work to get there but we are committed to building out the best team to achieve this.

This role is based in San Francisco.

Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for someone to define, own and build an Operational Excellence function for RippleX. You will be responsible for building our platform strategy as well as growing and managing a global team. Our Platform Engineering scope includes SRE, infrastructure maintenance and deployment, capacity planning and 24×7 global support. We are looking for someone to build this function from the ground up and will have full autonomy for execution and implementation of your strategy. You will embrace ‘owning it’ and ‘going for it’ – two of our corporate values.

You are comfortable managing people and have a track record of building high performing teams with a strong charter and sense of cohesion. You have a customer-centric mindset with a balanced understanding of business goals and technical strategy. You are obsessed with customer success through operational excellence and have the battle scars to know how to do it well.

In summary you will

• Own, build and support RippleX’s infrastructure platform and provide 24/7 support around the globe for our customers, partners and the broader XRPL community.
• Hire and scale a team with a culture of operational excellence, agility, performance and quality.
• Collaborate with the product & engineering leadership team, help define technical roadmaps and provide a platform-centric perspective on the product roadmap.
• Maintain a technically strong engineering culture that is supportive of Ripple’s values and ambitions.
• Ensure the right investments are being made for the long term health of the platform.

Requirements

• 10+ years of proven management experience building and leading platform engineering organizations.
• 12+ years of experience working on high-availability, distributed platforms.
• 12+ years supporting global production platforms.
• Experience defining a platform strategy from the ground up.
• Experience in managing blockchain infrastructure is a huge plus.
