Job description: POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Performs tasks associated with the receipt, storage, and shipment of products while meeting productivity, quality, safety, behavioral and attendance expectations. Effectively and efficiently uses established procedures, tools, equipment, and technologies to complete transactions related to inbound and outbound processes within the distribution center.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complete stock replenishment within company established timelines.

Accurately and efficiently put-away products according to documented standard work instructions and procedures.

Ensure trucks are offloaded and loaded using appropriate powered mobile equipment.

Accurately and efficiently receive, sort and marshal products according to documented standard work instructions and procedures.

Ensure compliance to AGI warehousing, stocking procedures and storage standards.

Resolve exceptions in order fulfillment created by stock discrepancies, branch order processing errors etc.

Utilize Manhattan WMS to identify and resolve exceptions, e.g. no finds, stock quantity discrepancies, damaged product, invalid totes, carrier changes, etc.

Operate and maintain preventively warehouse powered industrial equipment.

Follow appropriate lock out and tag out procedures for all powered industrial equipment.

Safely perform assigned warehouse functions utilizing established processes, procedures and tools while meeting performance expectations for productivity, quality, safety and attendance.

Perform functions associated with ASN close out resolution, unloading, stock replenishment, put-away, inbound exceptions, ship close-out & verify

Understands and has the ability to perform all functions of a DCA I and DCA II.

Follow safety policies, procedures of Occupational Health & Safety Act, Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, and WHMIS in the storage, handling and movement of product.

Work collaboratively as a team and assist other teams when required.

Ability to cross train into other jobs with similar functional requirements.

Performs necessary housekeeping duties in order to maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment.

Actively participates in process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.

Three to five years distribution experience with a solid understanding of warehouse management systems and DC warehousing, including Inbound and Outbound practices and procedure.

Understand DC storage and product flow and impact on LEAN processes/concepts, productivity and cycle time.

Ability to make decisions and solve problems.

Moderate mathematical aptitude and computer skills required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work in a position requiring:

Continuous standing and walking

Repetitive and continuous lifting up to 50 lbs, occasional assisted lifting over 50 lbs.

Squatting, bending, stooping, grasping, pushing, pulling and lifting of pallets and product from floor to shoulder heights.

Wearing and operating wrist-worn or hand-held computerized scanning equipment

Working in a position requiring work at elevated heights.

Able to tolerate an environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, and work around moving equipment.

Experience working with warehouse related systems and tools such as: warehouse management system (WMS), radio frequency (RF) scanning tools, would be an asset

Previous experience using powered industrial equipment (cherry picker, pallet jacks, carts, walkie, tugger, swing reach and other equipment as needed) required.

Ability to safely meet performance expectations for quality, teamwork, productivity and housekeeping.

Must have a positive, winning attitude that contributes to a constructive teamwork environment

Demonstrated focus on “wowing” the customer with exceptional service.
