We are currently seeking a Distribution Center Manager (Depot Manager) who will be responsible for the overall performance and operations of the warehouse including: safety, quality and customer satisfaction, productivity, cost, employee engagement, and environmental objectives. This position ensures efficient depot operations when processing receipts, return goods and shipments to support the dealer network and retail customer, while maintaining quality of parts and strict inventory control.
Requirements:
Safely maximize productivity throughout seasonal volume fluctuations via careful management of overtime and agency staffing within headcount and expense budgets
Operate distribution center within expense and headcount budgets
Manage/maintain capital assets and purchase indirect material
Ensure work environment free from hazards
Achieve & maintain a strong safety culture; lead an active employee safety committee
Achieve quality metric targets
Achieve productivity objectives through continuous process improvement
Manage receiving, put away, re-warehousing & picking operations accurately to achieve high levels of inventory accuracy
Adjust headcount levels to maximize productivity
Maintain depot performance records
Train, develop and motivate employees so as to minimize turnover
Manage administrative functions as per policy, procedures, and legal requirements
Build relationships with dealers and company field personnel
Responsible for 4 salary positions and approximately 45 warehouse associates/front line employees
Establish performance goals and objectives of salaried staff to achieve depot objectives
Manage process improvements locally and in close coordination with 8 other stocking warehouses through the company’s North American network
Qualifications
The qualified candidate will have:
Bachelor’s Degree
5+ years of leadership/management experience
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain
Business Administration Certificate
Ability to build & lead strong teams focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost
Experience working in a manufacturing or logistics environment that utilizes the Toyota Production System, Lean principles or Continuous Improvement operating philosophy
Experience working in a unionized environment
Self-starter
