Job description: Distribution Officer and Material Controller Coordinator

SRG are working with a global chemicals manufacturer to find an experienced Supply Chain professional to take on a role within their distribution and material control team on a temporary basis for 6 months.This is a great role for someone readily available and looking for a new contract.

The Role:

• Coordination of the team of Material Controllers
• Maintain HSE standards for Material Controller activities
• Provide support in the delivery of full compliance with all documentation for the loading and off-loading of tankers
• Ensure all procedures for area of responsibility are maintained, reviewed and fit for purpose
• Maintain key knowledge for Waste Management operations and engage with the Site Environmental Manager to ensure operations are compliant with internal and external requirements and legislation
• Ensure all CLP, & Waste Labels comply with current legislation.
• Responsible for Seram reporting (Internal waste reporting)
• Responsible for site logistics compliance including, ADR the transport of Dangerous Goods by Road, IATA the transport of Dangerous Goods by Air, Transport hazard labels for the Transport of waste by Road and relevant HSE Management system requirements for logistics.
• Provide knowledge and professional expertise in
• Distribution/Packaging activities, be the first point of contact for the site and business for the resolution of problems and to drive the improvements of systems, procedures and business interfaces.
• To deliver and co-ordinate the awareness or education as and when required by the business when changes take place in Distribution or Packaging systems or standards.
• Engage with distribution and weighbridge staff on changes/issues that require resolution.

Requirements:

• A strong level of knowledge/experience in a Manufacturing/Supply Chain environment
• A good working knowledge of SAP
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications
• Problem solving techniques
• Waste Transport label generation
• GHS:CLP label generation
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution/logistics or waste sector.
• Proactive and self-managing
• Clear and effective communication both written & verbal
• Prioritisation of workload & planning in a highly demanding environment
• Willingness to develop in the role and take on extra responsibilities as appropriate
