We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Electrician to join our Maintenance and Engineering team.

Hours of work: Available to work all rotating shifts, though initially shifts will be primarily days (subject to change)

Employee Group: NOWU Service
Location: Church, flexible to travel between sites when needed.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Keeps all operating electrical equipment in safe and proper working condition.
  • Maintains the electrical inspection book.
  • Recomends the ordering of electrical supplies.
  • Tests and repairs any electrical defect.
  • Installs and services new electric equipment.
  • Installs and repairs the nurse call system.
  • Repairs outside lighting and parking lot equipment.
  • Installs new services in renovation or building changes.
  • Maintain Fire Alarm System
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed Grade 12.
  • Extensive Experience in all aspects of institutional electrical equipment maintenance.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Ontario Electrician certificate.
  • Knowledge of electrical sections or public building and safety codes.
  • Ability to communicate with staff.
  • Lifts, carries, pushes, or pulls a variety of electrical materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Climb, balances, stoops, kneels and crouches to gain access to electrical wiring.
  • Exposed to electrical shocks and burns as well as falls from ladders or scaffolds.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required
