Job Description

The world has changed and we’re changing with it! Although our roots are in e-commerce, we are working with many of the world’s most innovative brands on the renaissance of online and in-person commerce, powered by Shopify technology.

Talking to merchants about Shopify Technology is the cornerstone of our Technology Services (TS) team. As the product and technology experts, we work directly with our merchants to help them make great technology decisions for their business. The market is changing fast, and this team needs to move faster to help pave the future for our merchants. A big investment to keep this team moving forward is in enablement. One of our four key strategic imperatives for 2021 is to invest in our people, and the TS enablement team is a critical group to deliver on that focus.

Our team is rounding out in skills and we’re looking for leadership with experience in learning & development / enablement to really drive the team to fantastic outcomes. This role will be responsible for the strategy, programs, and execution of scaling a best-in-class Enablement team.

Work with leaders in Technology Services to understand the knowledge and skill gaps

Lead the vision, narrative and value of enablement programs with a focus on communicating the impact of our enablement programs

Lead the strategy, execution and continuous improvement of the existing Technology Services Enablement team – including all enablement programs, onboarding and overall team building

Provide guidance on design / development / implementation of enablement programs with a focus on asynchronous and on-demand programs that meet our distributed workforce needs

Bring to life standards, frameworks and process to allow us to deliver enablement programs consistently which will also allow us to also add new programs quickly

Work with key leaders in the business both Globally and Regionally to understand their perspectives, needs, and challenges related to enablement and identify opportunities for growth within the Technology Services team

Identify KPIs and manage all programs to clear performance goals and regularly report results to key business stakeholders

Build and grow the TS Enablement team; develop your people

Coordinate with broader enablement teams to drive continuous program improvements and efficiencies

Partner and work collaboratively with internal teams such, Merchant Success, Sales, Product, and Talent

Qualifications

A demonstrated senior people leader rooted in delivering results with large-scale, cross-functional teams

Experience building programs and leading enablement, training, and learning & development

Comfortable with change; can adjust on the fly and has a strong default to action

Strong coaching skills to develop and build a global team

Track record of producing, driving adoption, and measuring the impact of enablement programs

Has a strong operational background with a track record of making data driven decisions

A builder, who knows what good looks like and brings the experience to build programs

Likes working in a fast-paced dynamic environment and can balance setting strategic priorities with high-quality, tactical execution

You are:

Passionate in your pursuit of a better merchant experience

Highly organized

Enthusiastic about knowledge and enablement

Knowledgable about, and are genuinely curious about the enablement as a craft

Proactive, proven project / program management skills , and independent when managing multiple competing priorities

An active contributor (has ideas, shares ideas, welcomes feedback)
