In the Electrical Engineering Career Path, you will build your technical knowledge through rotations over a 2-year period. You will have the opportunity to work within 5 of the following areas:
Avionics * Software & Electronics (SWEL)
- Reliability Maintenance Assurance Safety (RMAS)
- Electrical
- Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
- Cabin Systems-Avionics
- Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS)
- Flight Test
- Cabin Interior
- Operation Support
- Service Engineering
:
Develop electrical wiring integration of interior systems and aircraft configurations; * Produce customer wiring diagram designs and support interior harness deliveries;
- Participate in technical collaboration aiming to identify electrical systems novel design solution / improvements (i.e. emissions reduction, costs, weight, performance, customer satisfaction, etc.)
- Support at the aircraft and system level for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC, High Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF), Lightning Direct/Indirect Effects, Fuel Tank Ignition Prevention, Electrostatic Discharge, Electrical Bonding) technical requirements, procedures, analyses and test reports;
- Define the overall avionic systems and subsystems requirements to ensure safety, certification & aircraft design requirements and objectives are met;
- Work with suppliers on the program to ensure the system is properly designed to be integrated smoothly on the aircraft;
- Support testing, validation and development of simulation tools, and analyze data and test results from aircraft modifications, and development projects;
- Support the RMAS interaction (system functional hazard analysis, aircraft & system fault tree analysis, system safety assessment, and failure mode) within various BA functions, integrators, and Design Approval Designees as well as Transport Canada.
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate,
You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, or other related field)—completed in 2021 or will be completed by May 2022
You have a passion and unrelenting desire to learn about aviation
You have an innovative mindset and are eager to take on new challenges
You are a collaborative team player who strives for success
You are motivated and able to adapt in fast-paced environments
You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French
You are eligible to work in Canada
You are eligible to travel to the United States for a 3-month assignment
Knowledge of programming languages: Python, C/C++ or MATLAB is an asset
Previous internship in the aviation industry is an asset
