Advantages
Reporting to the Operation Lead the Engineering lead is responsible for supporting all the organization’s engineering needs including working closely with the Facilities and Operations teams with a focus on accelerating and controlling capex implementations, shorter term automation projects and general site maintenance.

Responsibilities
Oversee layout of new production lines and re-layout of existing production lines to optimize flow of materials and optimization of space.
Justify and procure tooling and capital equipment necessary to maintain required production volumes at high yields.
Develop 3-yr facility strategy to optimize utilization of manufacturing, warehouse, and office floor space.
Responsible for capital planning process for the company’s Operations.
Critical analysis of processes/systems/practices to identify current gaps and opportunities for improvement.
Providing expertise for manufacturing improvements and facilitate continual dedication to prevention of defects and CCI (Comprehensive Continuous Improvement).
Responsible for plant capacity planning and for securing capital requirements to ensure plant capacity meets demand in a 5-year time frame.
Support the TAG (Technical Application Group) by ensuring seamless transfer of products from pilot to manufacturing.
Develop and grow engineering talent.
Positive Manufacturing Engineering role model by taking proactive role in improving processes through training/teaching line design, line balancing and material flow concepts and procedures.
Develop long range strategies for and translate them into short term goals and objectives.

Qualifications
B. Eng in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or other related discipline; P. Eng preferred.
5 +years of progressively responsible in manufacturing environment.
Experience with process optimization and project management required.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude required.
Experience within Cannabis industry is considered an asset.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skill.
Leadership and coordination; must be able to communicate objectives and track progress on continuous improvement projects.
People manager / Leadership experience.
Working with initiatives focused to institutionalize continuous improvement culture.
Performing root cause analysis.
Overseeing change and process management.
Establishing goals and developing delivery strategies.
Demonstrating leadership and persuading and influencing others with advanced communication and presentation skills.
Facilitating the training and continuing education of other team members.
Utilizing advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio.
