Department Overview
The Institutional Equities division of TD Securities provides equity sales, trading, research, underwriting and distribution from offices in Canada, the U.S. and the UK.
As an Associate in Equity Research, you will have an opportunity to work directly with an equity analyst on the daily publication of company and industry research reports. This position has a primary focus on the real estate / REITs sector. You will hone research skills, gain detailed understanding of the sectors covered and obtain insight into the institutional equity business.
Job Requirements
- Ability to work independently under strict deadlines, with an attention to detail and output orientation
- Ability to research a topic from the ground up
- Strong work ethic, ability to take initiative and balance multiple tasks
- Superior business writing skills, presentation skills and interpersonal skills
- Excellent spreadsheet, quantitative and financial analysis skills
- Demonstrated interest in capital markets
- Service orientation and professional attitude – presentable to both internal and external clients
- Experience in real estate industry would be an asset
- Experience in Equity Research and/or Investment Banking would be an asset
- Three or more years of work experience would be preferred

Job Description
- Work closely with an analyst or analysts to develop an idea oriented research product
- Assist in the preparation of company and industry research reports (e.g. quarterly reporting initiatives, initiating coverage reports and marketing packages)
- Assist in the preparation of financial models to forecast quarterly and annual earnings, including maintaining and enhancing financial models and databases
- Interact with our Institutional Sales & Trading desk as well as external and internal clients
- Interact with senior management from companies under coverage
- Compile and evaluate company and industry data
- Assist in the development of valuation tools

Additional Information
- Undergraduate degree with a focus on business, finance or mathematics
- Other designations or degrees such as CPA, MBA, would be preferred
- Enrolment in Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program
