Job description: Your challenge!

Reporting to the Director, Revenue and Optimization, the Estimating Supervisor is responsible for supporting the sales growth strategy in the development of product selling prices taking into account manufacturing costs, volume, logistics costs and any other conditions that may affect profitability in order to meet business objectives.

You are also in charge of :

  • Ensure the optimization of profit margins;
  • Directing the employees of the estimating department by ensuring the quality of their work and its compliance with the standards, regulations and procedures in force as well as the needs of the customers;
  • Responsible for the estimating processes in place and ensure that the creativity of your group is stimulated.
  • Train staff in the proper use of equipment and support the estimating team to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Estimating Supervisor are to:

  • Organize all of your activities to effectively and efficiently meet the needs of your customers
  • Mobilize and motivate your team, optimize resources and ensure your team’s participation in strategic markets
  • Develop your team’s skills in identifying value-creating opportunities for the organization
  • Ensure that your team members determine prices with rigor and fairness
  • Ensure that the price maintenance process is done with rigor and within the required timeframe
  • Ensure compliance with business rules
  • Accomplish your work with accuracy and rigor according to the business objectives set by your manager
  • Adapt your methods according to the needs and internal and external changes

Your background and strengths

The estimated supervisor has several of the following qualifications and qualities:

  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in supervision and staff development
  • 5 to 10 years as an estimator in a similar industry
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while respecting deadlines and priorities
  • Leadership and collaborative spirit to inspire and mobilize teams to achieve excellence
  • The ability to address issues and problems by putting forward solutions
  • The ability to quickly grasp the needs of internal and external clients
  • A facility to accompany and advise business partners in the analysis of their needs and the search for solutions
  • A strong sense of responsibility
  • Fluency in French and English
  • Good command of the Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of the SAP software package

Additional information

Occasional travel across Canada to meet teams in Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec and Manitoba
