We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Field and Construction Site Inspector as part of our team in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Essential functions:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Oversee, Inspect and document the work performed by contractors to ensure compliance with contract drawings and specifications;
- Coordinate activities to resolve issues that may inhibit the contractor from successfully performing required tasks;
- Investigate critical incidences to ensure information is gathered to successfully mitigate against future occurrences.
- Follow up and ensure incidences are resolved;
- Verify contractor compliance with codes, regulations, site materials, and specifications;
- Maintain inspection records;
- Recommend requirements for remedial corrective actions;
- Prepare detailed documentation of construction progress and inspection; prepare various reports on daily operations and activities;
- Utilize required survey equipment to complete field survey and layout as required;
- Verify and document field testing procedures and results;
- Attend scheduled project meetings;
- Liaison with all project stakeholders; including the client, contractor, and residents that may be impacted.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel is considered an asset.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A Diploma in Civil Technology or a Degree in Engineering with thorough knowledge of construction practices, techniques, materials, and equipment related to construction;
Proven continuous experience with AutoCAD would be an asset;
10 years experience in the review of the installation, rehabilitation, underground infrastructure, and building construction. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Must be able to work long days, extended hours, and possible weekends during construction season.

Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety.
