The Position:

The Finance Associate will support the finance teams in the department and will be the key point of contact for Accounts Payable and Expense functions. You will support the Controller and Sr. Accountant with month-end and year-end tasks. Additionally, you will support the Associate Director, Financial Operations & FP&A Teams with ad hoc analyses and projects as needed. Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Oversee full cycle payables process by working with GBS (Global Business Support) team and line of business ensuring payables are captured, processed and uploaded into SAP accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Work closely between Line of Business, GBS and vendors to resolve any invoice issues.
  • Collaborates and manages relationship with GBS with respect to the Accounts Payable Team in India and identifies and implements further opportunities for improvement.
  • Responsible for review of data maintenance in the Accounts Payable master data (new vendors and changes) ensuring up to date information and elimination of duplicate vendors.
  • Ongoing evaluation of processes and procedures to ensure an efficient process and focus on minimizing the risk of fraud.
  • Manage timely completion of Diners Binder and working with GBS Expenses team to ensure high quality review and compliance with Travel and Expense policy.
  • Work closely between Line of Business and GBS Expense team to resolve any Concur/Credit Card issues.
  • Ensuring executive expenses are reviewed and in compliance with Travel and Expense policy prior to approval.
  • Focus on continuous improvement in the process.
  • Oversee preparation of financial closing month end binder (including reconciliations and completion of all required components).
  • Perform and monitor internal controls on a monthly basis.
  • Assist the FP&A team in managing the Sales operations, perform ad hoc Sales & Expenses analysis and AB/RE budget processes as needed.

Education & Experience

  • University Degree
  • Preferred enrollment in CPA program or strong interest in enrollment in an MBA Program
  • Proven success and minimum of 1-year related work experience preferred
  • Experience with SAP and SAP Business Warehouse preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in pharmaceutical industry an asset
  • Experience with Alteryx, Tableau, and other digitalization tools is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to proactively identify and manage risks and issues and follow-up in a timely manner
  • Ability to work in demanding and changing environments, managing projects and deadlines
