The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the continuous process improvement for data collection, forecasting tools and reporting systems to best support operation divisions in achieving their goals. Responsibilities will include developing and implementation tools for both divisional and business unit financial visibility, operational analysis including the use of both financial and non-financial data and developing best practice financial tools for use across the operations. The position will work closely with individual divisions to support and encourage changes to allow them to drive growth and revenue for their specific businesses.

Responsibilities will also include oversight of divisional alignment to corporate initiatives and general accounting standards.

This position works remotely and reports directly to the Vice President, Finance and a strong working relationship with the corporate Finance organization and Division General Managers.

Does this work interest you?

  • Leads the analysis of financial results and business trends for the Primary Packaging business segment.
  • Implements the reporting of the appropriate key metrics and KPIs for the business.
  • Analyzes financial performance of divisions against key metrics and documents pertinent financial highlights that will drive management decision making.
  • Work with divisions to develop forecasting models and data retrieval for these models so they can be efficiently updated during a month/quarter.
  • Provides status of financial condition of the company by collecting, interpreting and reporting key financial data and comparing to budgets and forecasts.
  • Contributes to acquisition integration, including implementation of a standard ERP system.
  • General data extraction – ability to pull data out of our data warehouse or ERP system via Excel connection to tables, Sequel statements or use of Tableau and bring items that need attention to the BU Management.
  • Become an expert in ERP with regards to inventory and job costing and flow of this information into the detail and to the ledger.
  • Develop a good baseline knowledge of ERP from an operations standpoint to be able to help coach/train on developing process improvements as it relates to getting consistency in our process and our data.
  • Contributes to company-wide initiatives, focus on continued development of new financial reporting and planning tools.
  • Supports the VP Finance & Director of Finance in a business partnership role to the Business Unit President and Senior Vice Presidents, to continuously improve the organization’s financial performance.
  • Becomes an “expert” in our Project Cost Management tool, to be able to have the ability to train divisions on how to properly use the tool to effectively manage their projects with the support from BU leadership.
  • Bring forth ideas and opportunities they see to make improvements and what they should be working on to maximize their effectiveness.
  • Acquisition Integration and support.
  • Other ad hoc requirements from the VP Finance or corporate team.

  • BS degree in business, financial or related field or equivalent work experience (finance/accounting degree and/or MBA preferred)
  • 5-7 years’ experience managing an accounting function in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent financial, analytical and management reporting skills
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills, including data extraction and report development
  • Business acumen to work and communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Strategic thinking to drive future growth and to prioritize areas of opportunity
  • ERP implementation experience as well as process documentation
  • High ethical standards
  • Self-starter, able to identify and prioritize work, willingness to roll your sleeves up to get things done with a sense of customer service
  • A demonstrable track record of successfully leading projects, influencing and managing business change
  • Position is remote, with the ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
