If you would like to work under a strong mentor, while gaining valuable full-cycle accounting and business operations experience, look no further! Reporting to the Controller, the selected incumbent will act as a strong finance business partner and be responsible for leading intercompany and financial reporting activities as well as month-end processes. You will provide mentorship to a small team and will be considered the ‘go-to’ person for any technical accounting related issues. Main responsibilities include:
- Own the financial reporting process internally and externally for the group of companies
- Ensure financial data is accurately reflected in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Assist with leading month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process
- Monitor and analyze overhead budget performance and actively liaise with department heads to review monthly costs
- Ensure needs are met and supported through financial modelling
- Manage and support the annual operating plan and budgeting process
- Ensure compliance and recommend new internal controls and improved processes
- Assist with special ad hoc projects when required

Qualifications
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Post-secondary education in finance and/or accounting
- CPA designation complete or in progress preferred
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Good knowledge of ASPE
- Strong Excel including financial modelling
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
