If you are a talented and experienced Finance Manager, David Aplin Group has the right opportunity for you! Our client has partnered with Drea Larson, Senior Consultant at David Aplin Group to lead their next search for the permanent position of Finance Manager, located in Canada.

This position will serve as the operational Finance Manager for our Workstation as a Service contract (WaaS) working very closely with Delivery Governance and Sales Management. The position includes financial forecasting, planning, heavy financial analysis, corporate financial month-end reporting, inventory and lease accounting, cash flow, client invoicing, risk analysis and mitigation, and profit optimization. The position will report to the Business Unit’s Senior Finance Manager who is based in California.

Responsibilities:

• Review day-to-day accounting issues to ensure compliance with the company’s accounting policies and procedures. Initiate changes to policies and procedures to improve the accuracy of financials and increase the efficiency to staff
• Areas of oversight include fixed and prepaid assets, AR, AP, inventory accounting, lease management, vendor contracts, purchase orders, inter-company cross charges, facility charges, and sub-contractors
• Assist in special projects and provide Controller’s Accounting group with information as requested to assist them in consolidated reporting and financial audits
• Proactively communicate to management relevant business issues, highlighting any risk, in the areas of financial reporting, accounting procedures and controls, and other operational procedures
• Ensure accurate project set up in SAP systems including revenue and cost budgets, transactional controls, and asset accounting
• Review and support the operations team to produce accurate monthly invoicing based on client contract terms and maintain a successful client relationship
• Ensure accurate reporting and financial controls of high-volume device management data from multiple software/reporting sources
• Provide annual budgeting as well as weekly/monthly forecasting & analysis including detailed revenue and margin forecast, with clear explanations of variances

Qualifications:

• Must have a professional Accounting/Finance designation from a 4-year degree from an accredited University
• Must have at least 5 years of experience as a financial analyst including some experience in Management, Contracts, Project-based accounting, and SAP
• Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to explain complex financial terms clearly and easily to internal and external customers
• Advanced analytical Excel spreadsheet skills (Vlookup, Pivots, and If Statements). Must have the ability to work with large of amounts of data from multiple systems, develop ad hoc reporting and analysis, understand project accounting systems, and provide timely, concise analytics
• Ability to lead the operations team on accounting information, policies, and/or procedures in a manner easily understood and drive targeted financial outcomes
