Department Overview

TD Finance Strategy, Governance and Enablement Group manages a diverse portfolio of business management activities for Finance and implements policies / processes and/or initiatives to meet business management, strategy and governance objectives.

Members of this group interface regularly with senior management in the delivery of work activities.

Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate.
  • 5+ years relevant experience.
  • Ability to work autonomously as a lead within a specialized business management function and provide work direction, seasoned specialized knowledge, advice and guidance to various stakeholders and team members.
  • Confidence and ability to oversee and work independently on a variety of complex initiatives end-to-end (primarily on short- to medium- term issues (6-12 months) requiring specialist knowledge and/or the integration of cross-functional processes (within your own area of expertise).
  • Thought leadership and/or industry knowledge specific (but not limited to) your own area of expertise.
  • Willingness and strength in providing guidance and influencing multiple teams across a broad spectrum of initiatives and functional domains.

Job Description

  • Lead the development & implementation of the Future of Finance strategy in conjunction with key leaders and stakeholders, seeking input, alignment and providing updates throughout the strategy creation, implementation and management process.
  • Facilitate key discussions and provides thought leadership to executive audience (output is roadmap and/or strategic plan/deliverables/frameworks/ short to long term goals etc.)
  • Plan, lead / manage and/or oversee a diverse set of work activities requiring alignment across multiple areas
  • Provide direction and/or input to complex, wide ranging enterprise or cross-function / business projects/initiatives as a subject matter expert and where necessary participates in identifying, designing and testing solutions and supporting the implementation
  • Build and lead a best-in-class Centre of Excellence accountable for Finance Business Management Services to improve operational excellence and standardize approaches within the Finance organization. Including business and performance reporting and analytics to enable effective business and workforce planning as we all as executive decision support.
  • Actively manage relationships with corporate and/or control functions and ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements
  • Lead / manage the integrated implementation of policies / processes / procedures / changes in across multiple functional areas
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes and sound infrastructure an in alignment with risk appetite
  • Ensure business operations are in compliance with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals, and physical control of assets).
  • Participate in cross-functional / enterprise initiatives as a subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situations
  • Support Finance organization in access management, resource management, premises and real estate, communication, business continuity management, health & safety. Including Pulse Action Plans, Capability Assessment, Division Communications, Associate/Co-op and intern program strategy and oversight, Enterprise Finance Administrative support coordination
  • Lead the planning and execution of employee experience related initiatives including reward & recognition, capability development and Finance events, in alignment with enterprise policies / centres of expertise
