Job description: A Work Practicum Role with J.D. Irving, Limited (JDI) will provide you with meaningful, hands-on work experience where you can apply your studies. You will expand your professional network by gaining exposure to our leadership teams and develop your skills with the latest technologies. Your practicum will provide both practical experience and professional development, setting you up for a successful career at JDI!
LOCATION: Saint John, New Brunswick.
This is the right work term for you if you have:
A good academic standing and are currently enrolled at NBCC
A long-term interest in a career in Finance
High energy
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
An ability to work well in a team
Attention to detail
A change mindset with an eye for process improvement
Excellent problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (particularly Excel)

Exposure to multiple areas within Finance, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Client Services, Payroll and Reporting
Test internal controls identified in the compliance program
Assist in the gathering of information for internal and external reporting
Professional development and mentorship opportunities
Use of latest tools and technologies to complete data analysis and visualizations
Project management and process improvement
