The TELUS Revenue Assurance team in Finance has an exciting new opportunity for a Financial Analyst III. This role will work collaboratively with team members from Home Solutions, Marketing, and Product Management to ensure timely and accurate payments to TELUS TV content providers, royalty tariff associations and key partners.

The successful applicant will analyze TV packaging, contracts, and billing records to facilitate accurate payments to partners and providers.

This role will provide a high degree of independence and require a self-starter to successfully build relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. Bridging the program objectives with TELUS’ Customers First philosophy, the highly driven and passionate team member will also execute various initiatives to optimize our settlement processes

As a Financial Analyst III, you will play a key role in facilitating the monthly outpayment process for TELUS’ Optik TV portfolio. Working with partners across Products, Marketing, Finance, and TSBT, this entails calculating payment obligations, identifying and explaining variances, and executing reporting & settlement processes to support TELUS Optik TV

Here’s how

• As an Analytic Whiz, you will read and interpret validated contracts, rates, and customer TV billing subscriptions to determine the appropriate payments to be made to our network TV suppliers
• As a Strategic Thinker, you will coordinate the delivery of financial and operational insights thru reporting and dashboards
• As a Trusted Business Partner, you will provide proactive decision support to partners and leadership by understanding their business challenges and opportunities such as:
• Resolving inquiries on payments from either internal sources or external vendor sources
• Identifying areas of opportunity to improve margins across our product portfolio
• Understanding and document controls surrounding existing vendors including associated tariffs and new services; read, interpret and provide settlement insights on impact of new contracts
• As the Finance-Go-To, you will prepare various financial & management performance reports and variance analyses:
• Extracting applicable revenue, financial & operational performance data from billing systems and Data Warehouse sources
• Applying contractual terms to calculate revenue and payment settlement for key partners and vendors
• Developing forecasting models
• As a Proactive Problem Solver, you will identify, and implement process improvements across your portfolio by:
• Discussing, documenting and leading design solutions for new content vendors
• Developing solutions to automate and/or optimize the payment and approval process, uploads for the SAP Disbursements team, and other output documents to be sent to the applicable vendors

Qualifications

You’re the missing piece of the puzzle

With:

• 5 years’ experience in a telecommunications, or media broadcast finance area with a high familiarity of associated products and services including ordering, provisioning and billing of services
• Technical aptitude including experience with software applications for database queries (SQL, Oracle), database structures and data management principles
• Demonstrated experience with data visualization software such as Tableau, Domo, Data Studio
• Thorough experience working with Microsoft applications (esp. Excel) and G-Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
• The ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment, valuing all ideas and perspectives
• The capacity to take initiative and ownership of issues and make decisions quickly to solve problems
• Superior interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Financial Management, or equivalent experience

Nice to Have:

• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
• Experience working with SAP in a finance capacity (ideally related to vendor payables
