Role Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area and perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with the safety policies of Karmax.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with Section 28 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Industrial Establishments.
  • Follow Magna’s Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies
  • Safely operates material handling equipment and performs all duties in a safe manner in accordance with the safety policies of Karmax.
  • Utilize pre-determined routes for the delivery of stock to assembly lines.
  • Delivery and removal of racks and/or bins to and from assembly lines.
  • Moves/relocates/loads/unloads parts either by manual operation or by material handling equipment (primarily) as required, to avoid production downtime and meet customer needs.
  • Carries out and records incoming or outgoing inspection of parts, tags, racks, lift trucks, tractors trailers, etc. as required.
  • Initiates proper documentation and performs inventory transactions as material is issued/received/shipped/rejected or sorted. Orders, picks and issues parts by specific lot/serial number. Verifies/updates inventory balances by performing floor counts.
  • Follows proper Materials Management procedures as defined in Karmax’s QMS and other departmental instructions.
  • Perform all duties in an environmentally responsible manner in accordance with the Karmax Environmental Policy Statement-3 P’s. Prevent Pollution, Preserve Natural Resources & Protect our Environment

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Grade 12 Education or GED
  • Valid 3rd Party Forklift Certification or Valid Karmax Heavy Stamping Forklift Certification

Additional Information

  • Must be able to work in various locations within and outside the Manufacturing Plant.
  • Must be able to work Rotating Shifts & Weekend Overtime to meet Customer Requirements.
  • Lifting up to 20 kgs
  • Must be able to work independently to perform their duties with little direct supervision.
  • Exposed regularly to elements such as temperature and noise
