As an Associate, you will help build the next amazing batch of startups, as they grow from early stage to venture-backed companies. From entrepreneurs, to investors, to mentors, your network is about to explode. Historically, most associates end up being employed by one of the teams or by someone they met during the span of the three months. Many also go on to build their own companies.

General Job Description:

As the Fundraising & Strategy Associate your role is to help prepare the startups to fundraise and engage the investor community. This includes assisting companies in developing their financial model, preparing and tracking a pipeline of targeted investors, and seeking grants and subsidies.You will use both your business and finance skills to help create and build meaningful relationships between our companies, VC’s and angel investors. You should have experience in the process of raising early stage venture capital, either from the startup side of the investor side.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated interest in technology, startups, entrepreneurship, venture capital, etc.
• BA in business or finance and minimum 2 years relevant experience at venture capital firms working on deal sourcing, financial modeling or similar. Both full time and internships accepted.
• Knowledge of the North American VC landscape is required.

• Able to jump in and complete any task quickly and effectively.
• Be a problem solver and effective communicator.
• A positive outlook, desire to learn and meet new people, lots of energy and enthusiasm.

• Authorized to work as a contractor in Canada.
• Currently live in Montréal or would be willing to live here for the duration of the program (September 2021 – December 2021)
• Bilingual french and english

Description du rôle:

En tant qu’Associé Fundraising & Finance votre rôle est de préparer les startups à la levée de fonds et à engager avec la communauté d’investisseurs.
Il s’agit notamment d’aider les compagnies dans l’élaboration de leur modèle financier, la préparation et le suivi d’un pipeline d’investisseurs ciblés, et la recherche de bourses ou subventions.
Vous utiliserez à la fois vos compétences commerciales et financières pour aider à créer et à bâtir des relations significatives entre les compagnies, les investisseurs en capital-risque et les investisseurs providentiels.
Vous devez avoir de l’expérience en capital-risque, que ce soit du côté des startups ou des investisseurs.

Qualifications:

• Intérêt démontré pour la technologie, l’entrepreneuriat et le capital de risque
• BA en commerce ou finance et un minimum de deux ans d’expérience pertinente dans des sociétés de capital-risque travaillant sur la recherche de contrats, la modélisation financière ou similaire. Les temps pleins ainsi que les stages sont acceptés
• Connaissance de l’écosystème nord-américain du capital-risque requise

• Capable d’effectuer plusieurs tâches différentes, rapidement et efficacement
• Être débrouillard, force de proposition, et être un bon communicateur/trice
• Une attitude positive, un désir d’apprendre et de rencontrer de nouvelles personnes, beaucoup d’énergie et d’enthousiasme

• Autorisé à travailler en tant que travailleur autonome au Canada
• Vivre à Montréal pendant la durée du programme (Septembre 2021- Décembre 2021)
• Bilinguisme français – anglais
