Job Description

As a Graduate Manufacturing Engineer at O-I, you will get exposure to various roles and operating procedures within a glass manufacturing facility. You will rotate through various departments for the first 4-6 months, and then you will do a specialty deep dive where you’ll receive in-depth training to prepare you for your first full-time role within the plant. This assignment will be determined based upon your education, experience, personal interest, and company needs.

During the departmental rotations, you will:

  • Promote and work to a high degree of safety and environmental consciousness at all times
  • Collaborate with each function and contribute to various project-related tasks
  • Collect, collate, analyze, and report on data related to role-relevant processes
  • Attend relevant training and assessments
  • Exhibit a customer centric approach to all aspects of your work
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in safety, quality, and efficiency, and implement improvements into standard operating procedure
  • Keep up to date with new developments in glassmaking technologies

Program Timeline:

  • Week 1: Orientation
  • Months 1-4: Rotations: EHS, Quality, Batch & Furnace, Cold End/Inspection, Plant Engineering, Product & Mold Design, Job Change, Forehearth & Forming
  • Month 5: Shift Work Rotation/FMU Rotation
  • Months 6-18: Specialty Deep Dive to learn a specific role

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline required
  • Internship, co-op, or 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments to meet objectives
  • A strong interest and desire to work in a manufacturing environment

Must be authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis. O-I does not sponsor work visas for this position.
