Shape Canada’s Medical Education team with a passion to help drastically improve the quality of life for patients. You lead the Medical Education Managers on the execution of strategic medical plans in their assigned Therapeutic area. You are focused on enhancing the valued partnership of the medical education team through the development of the medical education strategies to improve healthcare professionals’ (HCP) knowledge, skills and ultimately patient outcomes.

Your responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead scientific engagement with their Medical Experts. Implement clinical and educational strategies and respond to unsolicited medical enquiries. Lead field medical activities in collaboration with cross-functional teams and mentor other Field Medical associates.• Engage with Medical Experts (MEs) to educate on medical/scientific information
  • Ensure appropriate identification/mapping of MEs/ Key Accounts including identification of opportunities to involve MEs when a specific medical need is identified to provide support -Develop/execute ME engagement plans to effectively prioritize and strategically engage MEs aligned with country strategy
  • Proactively contribute to the development/execution of medical strategy/tactical plans, including collecting, analyzing, and reporting impactful insights from MEs.
  • Support Novartis clinical research programs, optimize trial execution and provide scientific educational support to study sites in collaboration with clinical operations.
  • Facilitate Investigator Initiated Trial (IIT) process upon investigator request -Provide expert disease area/ product training, serve as a medical resource to field colleagues, actively coach/mentor others

Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Preferred: MD or PharmD/PhD. CCPE or equivalent industry-accredited Continuing Medical Education certification strongly recommended. A minimum of 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including 3+ years people management experience as well as a proved track record in Medical Education or similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a group towards meeting and exceeding objectives
  • Strong planning and organization, problem solving and decision making skills as well as negotiating skills
  • Proven transformative mindset and ability to lead change
  • Strong agility to try, fail and learn fast to be able to test multiple solutions and improve on them
  • Fluent in English & French.
