THE ROLE

This role is part-time at approximately 20 hours per week between October 2022 – January 2024. As the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for mentoring the Finance team, supporting the executive team on strategic business initiatives and playing a leadership role in managing corporate support services including Legal and HR.

Responsibilities

FINANCIAL REPORTING

• Responsible for integrity and timely preparation of financial statements across two entities
• Leads the annual budgeting and forecasting process
• Provides monthly summary of financial results and forecast update including analysis by client and by channel along with commentary and explanation for significant variances.
• Review of revenue performance and projections with Account leadership and management
• Responsible for ad-hoc reporting being requested either internally or externally.
• Conducts what-if scenario analysis as required

MANAGEMENT & MENTORSHIP

• Management, training and development of 2 Finance Managers and 2 – 3 Senior/Junior accountants. In particular, providing mentorship to the 2 Finance Managers to elevate their career and personal growth
• Provides ongoing training and support for the team. Set and manage team performance objectives and measures
• Provides formal performance evaluations and recommendations for improvement

BUSINESS PERFORMANCE

• Plays an active role in influencing management focus and actions which support achievement of short-term and long-term financial targets
• Proactively identifies and recommends opportunities to enhance revenue, drive efficiencies and enhance profitability across the organization
• Reviews client billing and revenue recognition monthly
• Evaluates capital spending projects
• Ensure proper and efficient setup of financial operations and reporting of new entity
• Monitors all Finance operations for quality and accuracy

CORPORATE SUPPORT SERVICES

• Manages Finance relationships with affiliates within the network including but not limited to Sid Lee, Kyu Holdings and Hakuhodo Holdings
• Manages external relationships with Legal, Accounting, HR and Insurance resources
• Reviews clients contracts, employment agreements, vendor agreements, partnership agreements and real estate leases

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Must haves

• 15+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience
• Experience in a creative agency or similar
• Previous people management experience (5+ years of experience managing teams of people)
• Excellent PC and system skills, including advanced Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications
• Designated Accountant (CPA)
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, and able to prioritize tasks
• High standard of integrity and quality
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with a team and individuals
• Appreciates the “client first” mindset of a professional services organization
• Possesses a hands-on, action-oriented, entrepreneurial style
• Enjoys being part of a dynamic, creative and highly competitive business
