We have an opportunity for Health Education Manager to join our Patient Engagement team. The incumbent will be an active member of the newly created AbbVie Medical Institute program. In this role, you will be responsible to develop multiple Continuing Health Education (CHE) initiatives and customer’s offering based on quality performance criteria’s and key competencies areas as defined by the AbbVie Continuing Health Education guidance and environment. The incumbent will be based in Montreal (St-Laurent) and will report to the Manager, Health Education (CHE).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the CHE Strategies in line with the Brand Plan process. Plan, develop and implement measurable CHE strategies, tactics and optimal format vehicles for elected Brand/Therapeutic area. Align initiatives and CHE programs with external stakeholder’s needs as well as in line with elected Brand /strategic imperatives. Plan and organize train the trainer meetings on newly developed learning programs (accredited and unaccredited)
  • Monitor scientific literature and market trends to ensure leading edge program and material content Serve as subject matter expert on selection of most appropriate and engaging educational formats and channel in alignment with TA priorities, external customer needs, guidelines and regulations. Responsible for ensuring an appropriate mix of educational formats and channels (e.g., F2F, Digital, e-learning, webinars, etc.) are integrated within the medical education plan.
  • Transform the identified educational or insight gaps into successfully implemented solutions. Translate stakeholder’s needs and Brand imperatives against measurable objectives and expected outcomes, closing the care gap. Accountable for ensuring the delivery of relevant, innovative, engaging and balanced learning programs.
  • Oversee the development of TA’s learning’s programs, effectively employing and coordinating all available resources and involved parties across vendors and multiple internal stakeholders. Ensure to obtain buy-in and support from stakeholders and that cost, timeline, scope and risk management plans are in place.
  • Develop strong outcome metrics for core initiatives, for infield execution excellence to assess the performance of the CHE/CE/CPD interventions, behavior change and performance improvement.
  • Execution excellence: provide specific guidance and clear communications to stakeholders for impactful and optimal execution plans, aligned with cross function in field level roles and responsibilities.
  • Develop networking skill to identify and cultivate relationship with external and internal stakeholders. Prepare and collaborate with internal and external customers (Brand, Faculty, Universities, and Associations) to deliver effective presentations, facilitate meetings or present value proposition to customers.
  • Closely collaborate with AbbVie Clinical Specialists to ensure successful implementation of Medical Education initiatives.
  • Ethics and Compliance: Ensure that all AbbVie’s CHE initiatives meet the highest ethical standards, namely: Innovative Medicine Canada, National Accreditation Standards, Canadian Medical Association requirements, as well as internal policies to ensure programs meet ethics and compliance criteria.

Qualifications

Education / Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Science, Healthcare, or related field, or equivalent.
  • Certification in CHE/CPD (CCPE) or equivalent.
  • Relevant business experience with a proven track record of success within the biotech / pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in Continuing Health Education In depth knowledge of biopharma and healthcare industry sector (minimum 3 years).
  • Sales or Medical field base position experience.
  • In depth scientific background; Therapeutic area and knowledge of oncology and immunology is an asset.
  • Strong prior project management experience in health care industry. Strong, demonstrated skills in analysis, planning, implementation.

  • Knowledge of various National CHE environments, accrediting body and systems in Canada.
  • Knowledge of various Ethical /IMC, CMA, standards dynamics and environment.

Essential skills & abilities:

  • Advanced French (for Quebec-based roles) and English language proficiency (oral and written).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Must be at ease with technology (the use of various tools/systems to perform day-to-day tasks).
