Job title: HR Director

Job description: – Participate in the deployment of the strategic plan and advise management as an expert in management and human resources
– Develop and implement the best strategies, practices, policies and orientations in human resources management.
– Define human resources needs and propose action plans (budgets, resources, timelines) and ensure their implementation
– Support the management team in the management of their human resources and change management.
– Support and advise the supervisors to ensure uniform application of the rules, policies and procedures in force in order to maintain harmonious work relations
– Support mobilization by promoting employee performance and satisfaction by implementing programs aimed at increasing the sense of belonging and adherence to the company’s values
– Support the maintenance of a healthy and safe work environment for all employees of the company
– Responsible for the compensation strategy and pay equity
– Responsible for group insurance and retirement plans
– Acts as the custodian of culture and engagement along with the leadership team; integrates the culture into all people processes and the employment experience
– Manage and drive the OQLF process and requirements

Strategic responsibilities:
– Develop and drive HR strategy, priorities, and actions.
– Advise on organization design and job design to continually evolve and improve effectiveness
– Work with leaders to develop the unique value proposition to enable attraction and retention of top talent
– Maintain a finger on the pulse of employee engagement and bring forward insights and action plans
– All other projects and initiatives as it pertains to continuous improvement and employee engagement

Performance Management:
– Oversee the continued roll out of a consistent global performance review process that focuses employee’s efforts on the achievement of business goals and attainment of requisite s

Skills/competencies to sustain profitable growth:
– Review and update job descriptions/profiles
– Assist managers in the annual performance evaluation and salary increase process
– Identify or develop company-wide or individual learning initiatives that are effective and focus on employee development to achieve business and personal career goals
– Leads and participates in succession management and workforce planning.
– Advise and coach Managers on all aspects of personnel management: disciplinary measures, absenteeism, conflict resolution, performance evaluations, career development, communication techniques, etc.
– CPE Training

General HR responsibilities:
– Develop and administer processes, which focus on building benchmarks to meet current and future business needs
– Work with management to plan and implement programs to meet human resource requirements supporting short and long-term business needs.
– Executes and follows-up on engagement surveys including Vibe
– Serves as key change manager for initiatives that have high employee impact
– Resolve conflict situations and investigate complaints
– Support health and safety programs to ensure a safe and secure work environment through industry best practices, effective disability claims management, strong working relationships with key stakeholders, and knowledge of legislative requirements.
– Create and lead community relations team/social club in conjunction with Senior Management
– Performs all steps necessary required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; training and development.
– Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
– Manage disciplinary files including representation at the CNESST
– Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs to facilitate consistency and equity across all areas; provide regulatory and policy advice on workforce related matters.
– Implement effective safety, affirmative action, and other employee relations programs.
– Understand, interpret and ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislative requirements including Human Rights Act, Employment Equity Act, Normes du travail, Workers Compensation Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, etc. as they apply

Talent Acquisition responsibilities:
– Based on business needs, devise recruitment strategy and channel to fill all openings within needed time frame.
– Lead recruitment process and drive continuous improvement.
– Assist with headcount requirement evaluations and job scoping.
– Design, plan and implement recruitment strategies to maximize talent management
– Optimize recruitment processes for plant operations
– Develop and improve selection tools
– Manage/conduct employee training and orientation programs.
– HR marketing – develop a strategy for our Employer Value Proposition and improve our presence and scores on social media (Glassdoor, Indeed, Google and LinkedIn)

Compensation:
– Analyze, administer, and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs for the Company

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or related field or equivalent work experience may be considered
  • Ten or more years of experience and at least five years of management experience in a manufacturing background
  • Bilingual – French mother tongue preferred
  • Experience with an HRIS and other HR tools (Dayforce an asset), payroll, benefits & compensation management, and organizational change & development.
  • Expertise in coaching, training, mentoring, change management, and overall talent management
  • Excellent written and oral French communication
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Time management skills including work planning, prioritization, and organization
  • Ability to collaborate and work autonomously
  • Ability to articulately present information to all levels across the organization
