Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RIS) is seeking an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Architect in support of the Air Operations Center Weapons System (AOC WS) Global Application Delivery Network (GADN). This position will be located at Langley AB, Virginia. The IaaS Architect position will work on the US Air Force’s AOC Kessel Run (KR) program in support of the program office. The IaaS Architect position will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining secure and optimized cloud (AWS and Azure), on-premises (Dell vxRail EMC and VMWare), and hybrid cloud (AWS/Azure) environments. The IaaS Architect position will work closely with Kubernetes Platform as a Service (PaaS) deployment, cyber security engineering, and network engineering to maintain a secure and available cloud environment for all customer missions. This position requires a strong background in IaaS cloud architecture, deployment and management. The desired candidate will need to help the KR team with the design and implementation of cloud infrastructure services needed to support the Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) platform with automated workflows in a DevSecOps context. Typical duties of this position include.
- Create, understand, and modify design diagrams of Infrastructure service capabilities based on changing requirements.
- Convert user requirements into technical solutions and recommendations.
- Assist in the design of Kubernetes based hosting infrastructure.
- Provision, manage, and secure cloud infrastructure with expertise through technologies such as infrastructure as code (IAC), autoscaling resource services, zero trust architecture, backup strategies, and hybrid cloud to on premise native services.
- Assist in design and implementation of reliable, highly available, and secure infrastructure systems and services.
- Ensure Infrastructure Engineers follow designed implementations of systems using automation and IAC to ensure secure repeatable builds.
Clearance: An existing US Government Secret security clearance is required for this position (US citizenship required).
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated experience working as an engineer leveraging large scale hybrid cloud infrastructure as their primary application platform.
- Experience with agile and lean software development practices, and supporting infrastructure used for hosting container-based services.
- Deep understanding of modern security best practices for cloud infrastructure and networks.
- Demonstrated experience building declarative infrastructure using modern Infrastructure as Code techniques.
- Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, JSON, and Python).
- Demonstrated successful transforming large-scale software, data center, and/or on-premises infrastructure programs to a containerized cloud native architecture.
- Industry recognized certification in technologies such as Security, Cloud Computing, On Premise computing, Linux, Vmware, Windows, etc.
- DoD 8570 compliance at the IAT Level III within 6 months of hire, IAT level II at time of hire.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols as demonstrated by network certifications CCNA, CCP, or equivalent proficiencies.
- Familiar with concepts such as availability zones, distributed systems, multi-tenant systems, network protocols, network security, SSL, PKIX, routing, and load balancing.
- Familiar with the implementation of cyber/IA controls; NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, ICD 503, RMF, DoD ILs.
- Automation experience: Bash/Perl, Ansible, CI/CD with Terraform, Gitlab.
- Experience with Converged or Hyperconverged Infrastructure including VxRail.
- Experience implementing and managing AWS services.
- Familiar with NSX, F5.
- Experience with vSAN.
- DoD TS/SCI clearance highly preferred.
Education Requirements:
Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), or related STEM degree program from an Accredited University/School/College with 8+ years of related work experience (preferred) or 12+ years commensureate experience without a degree
