Your role

The opportunity

As part of the move to the new Maison Radio-Canada, CBC/Radio-Canada is looking for an Information Systems Officer, who will be responsible for responding to users’ IT and office automation problems immediately following their respective moves. You must be able to analyze problems related to computer peripherals and software in order to ensure the availability of computer systems and office software. You will help support users throughout different CBC/Radio-Canada departments. You will also work in collaboration with the teams in the newsroom as well as television production an radio for Radio-Canada.

As our new Information Systems Officer, you will:

  • Conduct first level support for the end-users for issues related to software, hardware, multimedia and network, and escalate to second level support as needed
  • Update / upgrade computers for all employees
  • Prepare new computers
  • Validate request priority
  • Ensure request and incident follow-ups
  • Clarify and validate client needs
  • Propose different solutions to complex issues and needs
  • Create and update documentation to be used by the team
  • Identify problematic situations
  • Respect established workflows and processes

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

  • College diploma in computer science or a D.E.P in computer support
  • Minimum (2) years’ experience providing onsite and telephone IT support
  • Knowledge of Google and Windows environment
  • Knowledge in installing and configuring the physical components of a computer and operating systems
  • Good knowledge in solving problems related to desktop software in a Microsoft environment
  • Good knowledge of support processes prescribed by ITIL
  • Technical troubleshooting knowledge
  • Using common troubleshooting and anti-virus/anti-spyware software
  • Good communication skills and outreach to users
  • Knowledge of the digital production environment (an asset)
  • Knowledge of IP and mobiles phones (Samsung – Andoïd and iPhones – IOS)
