Job description: Your Opportunity:
This position acts as a contact for questions and concerns related to compliance with relevant AHS security policies, security controls, legislated and regulatory requirements. This position provides advice to ensure business practices and controls are compliant within established policies, standards and guidelines. This position coordinates incident response activities for the Security Incident intake line. Work closely with Privacy for the Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) work. Following risk assessment processes/assessments/checklists, the Analyst will review new systems or solutions prior to implementation to identify potential risks and mitigation options, this is often done as part of the PIA work. This role also provides Tier-2 operational support responding to General Service Requests (GSR) and Incidents and be part of the GRC on-call rotation.
Description:
Applies experience and expertise to maintain and enhance AHS’ information/IT security programs to protect the patient safety and privacy and to ensure the AHS policies are followed, best practices are adopted and proper follow-up to recommendations is done. Applies experience and expertise to assess IT controls and identify innovative solutions that create alignment between IT goals and business goals or improve the effectiveness of AHS’ processes by using the appropriate governance frameworks and/or best practices. Ensures that AHS’ values, goals and principles are implemented and integrated in the delivery of services to business/client groups. Contributes to the development of a strategy for coordination, delivery and implementation of assigned GRC teamwork and projects. May direct the work of others by providing guidance and advice regarding policies, standards, legislation and appropriate process steps for supporting IT security and risk management activities.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in information or equivalent experience. Experience in Healthcare preferred. 5-7 years’ experience in the information/IT security area with increasing levels of responsibilities and accountabilities. 5 years’ experience in Information Technology preferred. CISA certification, CISM and/or CISSP certification are preferred.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of information security controls as well as experience achieving compliance with standards and regulations such as ISO 27001/2, ITIL, COBIT, HIA and FOIP. Knowledge of information systems security controls for a wide variety of IT environments, systems development and network infrastructure. Requires that the incumbent maintain expertise and knowledge in current and emerging threats. Experience working within project teams. Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills and facilitation. Excellent verbal and written communication. Able to foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Able to apply best practices and knowledge of internal organizations and external industry challenges to improve processes or services.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in information or equivalent experience. Experience in healthcare preferred. 5 years’ experience in information technology preferred. Cisa certification, cism and/or cissp certification are preferred.
