Job Description and Responsibilities

EVRAZ’s Information Technology Co‐op program is designed for students interested in building a career in industrial manufacturing. Our world class facilities provide students with opportunities to explore technologies that drive our operations and business activities.

Co-op assignments are structured so that students develop with each new work term, positioning them to accept an increasing level of complexity and self‐reliance. Our goal is to have our co-op students fully capable of stepping into a full‐time information technology role after their degree is attained.

With the collaboration of the EVRAZ Tubular Products Group Information Technology team, you will assist with various projects related to information management, database development and maintenance as well as contribute to the technical competencies and production requirements of our manufacturing facilities.

As a Co-op Student, with EVRAZ Regina’s IT group, you will get to design, develop and support systems in an exciting manufacturing environment that utilizes current IT technologies to deliver production critical solutions using lean and agile programming methods.

  • Assist with assigned projects, contributing expertise and owning results for assigned tasks
  • Comfortable developing/supporting systems used in a manufacturing environment
  • solid programming skills and desire to work under the mentorship of a well experienced team
  • GPS, Industrial Computers and RFID scanners over wireless networks
  • Integrated Client/Server environment
  • Automation and Control through a variety of Industrial protocols
  • Innovation to design and develop customized process feedback

Requirements

  • 3rd year Computer Science or Software Systems Engineering student in good standing at a recognized post-secondary institution
  • good knowledge of database performance and tune-ups
  • .net Developer
  • Visual Studio VB / C# .Net
  • SQL Server 2008/2012 and Management Studio
  • good knowledge of database performance and tune-ups
  • SSIR / SSRS
  • Power BI
  • WPF, WCF, EDM, Expression Blend
  • SharePoint, preferred
