The Strategic and Corporate Services Department – Information Technology Division is looking for a temporary full-time IT Support Clerk, for approximately two (2) years.

You will provide administrative and technical support to the IT group. Administrative duties include managing vendors and tracking/maintaining hardware/software agreements, preparing correspondence, entering data into various databases, coordinating training/conference requests, ordering computer equipment & office supplies, maintaining inventory, and entering payroll and absence management for the IT group. Technical duties include responding to and assisting with customer requests on the IT Service Desk, logging requests (tickets) and assigning to others, using service management software.

You will have some administrative and technical work experience, along with courses in information technology, business administration, finance or a related field. A diploma/degree in information technology or business administration, would be an asset. Experience with timekeeping/payroll submission, creating purchase orders and invoices using PeopleSoft (or an equivalent system) is required, along with proficiency with Microsoft Office, Windows 10 operating system, and other common software applications. You will also have basic skills to resolve routine hardware/software problems and experience with IT Service Desk, tablets and smartphones would be advantageous.

For temporary full-time positions of eight (8) months or longer, a City employee who is successful on the posting will have the right to revert to their former position.

Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete standardized tests or exercises to demonstrate their applicable skills and knowledge.

Salary:
$29.70 to $34.96 per hour
(Pay Grade 18 – January 2021 rates)

Hours of Work:
The City of North Vancouver currently works on a compressed work schedule of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) approximately each three-week scheduling cycle.
