Instructional Technology Technician
What will my role and responsibilities be?
- Create, edit, and review interactive, focused training modules, instructor-led training materials, and editorial content for a digital-first environment.
- Work with subject-matter experts and instructional designers to integrate e-learning content to the company’s LMS.
- Maintain the company’s training software — including uploading training material into the system, updating information, and removing training that is no longer available — and create virtual events.
- Maintain and adapt the LMS structure based on customer needs, maintain the user base as well as analytics.
- Coordinate the virtual class environment and communicate procedures with customers.
What will a typical week look like?
- On Monday mornings, start your week with an L10 meeting with the Education services team
45% of your time will be dedicated to:
- Creating, editing, and publishing video lessons that explain to our customers how to apply the industry’s best practices using our system, Genius ERP
25% of your time will be dedicated to:
- Applying the instructional structure layout to the LMS, Genius Academy.
- Collaborating with the marketing department in making the LMS platform branding as well as the look and feel consistent with the company’s image.
- Uploading media content on Genius Academy (LMS).
- Improving the user interface (search filters, tags, direct URL links) of the LMS platform.
15% of your time will be dedicated to:
- Coordinating virtual classes (mainly registrations and communiqués) and communicating procedures to customers.
15% of your time will be dedicated to:
- Onboarding customers to the platform and supporting existing customers, answering their questions.
- Managing the user base and gathering weekly analytics about customer behaviors on the platform for the department to perform the Kirkpatrick and ADDIE evaluation methods.
- Sending and collecting data from internally designed surveys to probe customers on their education experience.
- Acting as a point of contact for both internal and external users.
Do I have the requirements needed?
- College and/or advanced degree in interactive media, communication, or administration.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience.
- Bilingualism and impeccable command of both official languages (French and English, both written and spoken).
- Great command of the basic tools of video editors, mostly Camtasia
- Experience in content production is a must have.
- Experience using and maintaining an LMS platform is an asset.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with an ERP system is a plus.
- Candidates must have a strong attention to detail, initiative, and be quality focused.
- Enjoys working in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized person by nature is essential.
