Job Title Insurance Finance – Manager, Business Planning & Analysis
Job Description
Prepare monthly financial advisory packages for the Insurance senior management team and Performance Management that focus on business drivers and highlight opportunities and risks to long-term business objectives.
Apply business and application knowledge to facilitate problem analysis across the financial reporting applications. Identify solutions and develop creative options that are aligned with business strategies and tactics.
Co-ordinate financial information for executive presentations.
Fulfilling the needs of senior management for a variety of constant ad hoc reports relating to actual, forecast and plan, including strategic initiatives.
Work with other members of the Reporting and Forecasting team to streamline and improve the timeliness and accuracy of consolidated RBC Insurance reporting processes, including use of new technology.
Work closely with business partners to proactively develop and consistently improve upon the information needed to support the management of the RBC Insurance business.
Complete Financial System Administrator (FSA) activities which includes set up/closing of transits, new account set up and rollup hierarchy maintenance on the G/L system as well as set up access for new employees.
Must-have
Completion of a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA: CA, CGA, CMA) or MBA or equivalent experience
Minimum of 3 years of financial services industry experience in progressive finance roles
Excellent working knowledge of all Windows based software with exceptional Excel skills and experience across financial analytic systems
Excellent planning and forecasting, management reporting, business advisory support skills
Client centric focus with strong initiative and self-motivated
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Nice to Have
Understanding of Insurance products and insurance accounting
Experience with RBC financial systems and analytical tools.

Job Summary What is the Opportunity?
In this role you will be responsible to provide financial decision support to Insurance and Finance business partners by presenting financial analysis and reporting requirements. You will be responsible for contributing to the monthly and quarterly reporting for Insurance Finance. The successful candidate acts as the key point of contact for financial reporting and analysis within their portfolio. The ability to manage multiple deliverables and engage with other teams across both Finance and Insurance are key success factors.
