Job Overview

Job title: Intermediate or Senior Developer, Monitoring and Optimisation (French Services)

Job description: Working at CBC/Radio-Canada

At CBC/Radio-Canada, we create content that informs, entertains and connects Canadians on multiple platforms. Our successes and accomplishments are driven by embodying and upholding values, which include creativity, integrity, inclusiveness and relevance.

Your role

Do you want to join a dynamic team of about 140 web, backend and mobile developers, QA and more?

Do you want to develop innovative solutions to promote Radio-Canada content?

Do you want to work with some of the top talent in the industry?

If you answered yes to these questions, Radio-Canada’s Digital Media group is looking to hire a developer for its system Monitoring and Optimisation team.

As part of this team, you’ll actively contribute to setting up everything required to feed our dashboards in order to accurately monitor Radio-Canada’s digital properties. Our monitoring efforts are mainly targeted towards solving performance issues but this team is also on the lookout for hard to detect bugs and other potential incidents. You’ll also be tasked to build new dashboards using Kibana in order to improve our systems monitoring capabilities.

Working on these initiatives will help you gain a high level view of our entire ecosystem of products not only infrastructure-wise but code-wise too. You’ll often be in the first few persons to detect a slow down on one of our products, do the first diagnostics and then offer insights to our development or DevOps teams so they can solve the problem faster. It’s important to note that this position is not a technical support role or a position for which you’ll have to support teams outside regular business hours. You have to see this role as a full time opportunity to research and investigate potential problems in our ecosystem.

When you work for CBC/Radio-Canada, you’re not only joining the undisputed leader in expressing Canadian culture – you’re also participating in its digital revolution. Here, you’ll find a stimulating, state-of-the-art and team-focused work environment.
