This position reports to the Surface Maintenance Engineering Department.
This temporary employment opportunity is part of Nutrien’s Indigenous Internship Program and is intended to introduce voluntary self-identified Indigenous students or recent graduates to professional work experiences at Nutrien.
This is a 16-month Co-op that begins in May 2022. Active Recruitment to begin January 2022.
What you will do:
- Assist with the design or redesign of projects
- Conduct cost estimation
- Prepare drawings and/or drafting for electrical projects
- Perform procurement related to capital and maintenance projects
What you will bring:
- Current enrollment in and completed at least 2 years, or a recent graduate of an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering program (or equivalent) at an accredited post-secondary institution
- Demonstrated positive safety behaviour and safety leadership
- Willingness to learn and gain knowledge and experience through training
- Excellent interpersonal teamwork and communication skills
- Motivation to set and achieve goals, take initiative, and nurture projects forward
- Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities
- Alignment with Nutrien’s
and values * Preference will be given to candidates with mining or heavy industrial experience
