Position Profile:

Inventory / Logistics Manager:

Based in Burnaby/Vancouver, BC the Inventory / Logistics Manager plays an important role in helping the company to achieve its goals for continued growth and leadership by managing the inventory production process, along with the managing of inventory flow through our various warehouse locations. Reporting to the Operations Manager, and the President, the Inventory / Logistics Manager will be responsible for ensuring the flow of raw materials and finished goods is handled in the most effective and efficient manner possible, along with ensuring proper and effective stock levels are maintained throughout the organization.

Educational Requirements:

· Post Secondary education with a business focus would be an asset

· Any educational training in purchasing and/or logistics would also be an asset

Experience Requirements:

· 2 – 3 years solid administrative experience which clearly demonstrates your organizational skills

· some experience in a purchasing capacity

· some experience in a warehousing environment

· some experience using a mid-level accounting package,

· manufacturing and/or distribution experience an asset

Skill Requirements:

· Strong communication skills, both written and oral, French or Spanish an asset

· Ability to communicate effectively with customers and vendors

· Strong organizational and fervent negotiation skills

· Strong computer skills, (all OFFICE products a must)

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for managing and determining inventory stock levels for both raw materials and finished goods.

· Research and negotiate new sources of raw materials.

· Negotiate the cost, purchasing and receiving of raw materials, packaging materials and goods for re-sale.

· Manage the minimum and maximum inventory positions of each warehouse location

· Determine the inventory requirements throughout the organization on a regular basis

· Create and issue production orders to the plants for product to be produced and assembled

· Manage the manufacturing consumption and output processes

· Maintain the Item Cards and Bill of Materials within our computer system

· Manage the inventory system with the corporate metrics and strategies

· Oversee the coordination of the shipments of all orders from our production facilities and warehouses, both incoming and outgoing.

· Handling of customs related issues for all border crossings

· Reconcile yearly inventory quantities at all warehouses

· Manage and train vendors in the use of our on-line web based freight quoting system

· Grow and develop new freight vendors, both TL & LTL to meet our corporate freight strategies

· Negotiate freight rates with vendors, and oversee the issuing of freight purchase orders

· Participate on the New Product Committee, bringing the inventory production and logistical perspective to the table

· Other duties as assigned by the President.
