Job title: IT, Technology and BI Superintendent

Job description: Reporting to the Finance, General Services and Supply Chain Manager, you will be part of the IT, OT and BI Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Lead the Technology and BI team by planning, directing and coordinating the different activities;
  • Establish short, medium- and long-term vision for the technology in the Nunavut operations in conjunction with corporate guidance and site priorities;
  • Support OT/Automation priorities in collaboration with the Technology and Innovation Senior Advisor;
  • Align the department toward optimized technological usage;
  • Develop a network connectivity vision and action plan for the Nunavut sites with available technologies (GEO, LEO Satellites and eventually Fiber Optic);
  • Ensure that BI, OT and IT standards are developed and followed;
  • Make sure recommended Cyber Security levels are maintained;
  • Elaborate, and manage technical improvements adhering to the standards in place on an ongoing basis;
  • Elaborate and execute strategies to ensure the proper maintenance and operation of the department processes;
  • Set priorities and ensure that goals are aligned with both delivering results and business priorities;
  • Analyze available data and provide key insights and recommendations for improvement;
  • Develop, monitor and control the operating budget of the department;
  • Ensure an adequate working atmosphere to the team;
  • Organize and assign objectives and targets for employees in the department;
  • Ensure work is performed and procedures followed in accordance with Health, Safety and Environment regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience;
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience within Information and Operation technology roles;
  • Understanding of work in the mining industry a must;
  • Experience in remote operation with satellite connectivity;
  • Excellent problem-solving and learning capacity, with a creative approach to various situations and issues;
  • Experience with change management;
  • Excellent knowledge of IT and OT concepts and technology;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Note that the official working language at our Nunavut operations is English.

Your Work Schedule:

  • Schedule: 7 days of work, followed by 7 days for transportation and rest with occasional travel to our corporate office and Northern communities;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
