What we need:
As part of the Information Technology team, the individuals will draw upon their effective customer service approach, technical and organizational skills to support our senior technical team.
Provides hands-on system administration support, system maintenance and operations support.
Build, configure, and troubleshoot software and hardware enhancements, application deployments and infrastructure upgrades.
Diagnoses and correct computer, server and network system issues.
Administer servers, laptop and desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, company mobile phones, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
Initiates customer contact, escalates to appropriate parties and resolve incidents.
Responds to technical issues as they arise and escalate tickets if needed.
Maintain accurate inventory lists of all equipment.
Manage software licenses.
Maintain network servers such as file servers, and VPN gateways.
Document IT processes and procedures.
Work Schedule:
The successful candidate will work Monday – Friday days for 7 weeks. Please note schedule may change due to operational needs.
Compensation:
$14.25 per hour
What you bring to MSH:
- Qualifies for the Summer Job Program:
- Between the ages of 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
- Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Demonstrated excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience or training setting up and maintaining Windows, Linux and VMware operating systems and related hardware
- Understanding of basic networking concepts and TCP/IP
- Keen interest in learning new skills and technologies.
- Proven well-developed customer-service focus
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Must demonstrate high initiative and efficiency with accurate attention to detail
- Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
- Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
- Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
