Golder has a new opportunity for a Junior Water Resources Engineer to join our Water team on a full-time basis based in Calgary. The water group provides a variety of engineering and environmental water services to many high-profile projects in the Prairie Provinces, Northwest Territories, and throughout the world.

An overview of your role will include:

  • Execute field data collection programs
  • Perform hydraulic and civil analysis, design and assessment related to river engineering, flood assessments, erosion control, surface water diversions, hydraulic structures, water intakes, pump stations, pipelines, water control structures, and mine water infrastructure
  • Conceptual, preliminary, and detailed engineering for water resources projects
  • Develop and apply hydrological and hydraulic models
  • Contribute to technical reports and proposals
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary environmental field programs and assessments

Qualifications

You will have a background in:

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering (with experience or focus on water resources, dams, hydraulic structures, river engineering or water management)
  • Must be eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training with APEGA
  • Experience with field data collection and analysis, modeling and design would be an asset
  • Good communication, leadership, problem solving, mentoring, writing, and people skills
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and high degree of motivation
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Team player with the ability to motivate and lead by example
  • Experience with writing technical reports
  • Committed to technical excellence
