We are looking for a candidate who would actively contribute to consulting and assurance engagements targeting mostly:
- Governance, risk management processes and internal controls of Corporate Treasury, including ALM (Asset-Liability Management), funding activities in capital markets, cash management, FTP (Funds Transfer Pricing), securitization programs and relevant disclosures;
- Enterprise-wide governance and risk management processes, including the Bank’s strategic and business planning, risk appetite setting and monitoring, enterprise-wide stress testing (including Recovery and Resolution Plans), structural interest rate risk management, liquidity risk management and model risk.
Your role:
- Maintain a relationship of trust with partners from other sectors and lead various audit and consulting engagements as requested by Management.
- In your domains of expertise, understand and stay current on Bank’s strategies and business objectives, industry trends as well as regulatory requirements relevant to its operations, including its international operations.
- In Agile mode, coordinate or contribute to the completion of audit engagements with the assigned auditors and the partners from the 1st and 2nd lines of defense, while exercising a rigorous follow-up of the milestones and regularly reporting progress to involved colleagues and partners.
- Identify the risks that could have a significant impact on the examined processes (effectiveness and optimization) and approve or establish the audit strategy, considering the use of data analytics as a tool to achieve audit objectives.
- Analyze the problems encountered, identify the root causes in cooperation with relevant partners and support them in the identification of innovative and realistic solutions to eliminate the causes of the problem.
- Present the results of the work carried out to senior management and managers responsible for the processes examined and draft the audit report.
- Participate in committees or special projects that require a high level of expertise and represent the Bank to various organizations, authorities, or stakeholders.
** As part of its duties, the Lead Advisor may have to travel from time to time.
Competencies required:
- Bachelor’s degree related to the industry and fifteen (15) years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree related to the industry and ten (10) years of relevant experience
- Academically trained in finance, financial engineering or applied mathematics to finance or financial models and work experience in risk management, or internal/external audit or in advisory roles to senior management of financial services industry
- Knowledgeable about financial instruments and of regulatory landscape with regards to financial services industry
- CFA or CPA designations or both, a strong asset
- Mastering Excel a requirement, and knowledgeable about analytics tools (ACL, Audit Exchange, IDEA, SAS or others) and visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, or other), a strong asset
- Comfortable navigating ambiguous situations and working on several files simultaneously
- Demonstrated relational leadership and ability to ensure effective partnership with stakeholders as well as capacity to persuade partners
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to simplify and synthesize information
- Agile, results-oriented, and able to work in a multidisciplinary team of experts
- Able to solve complex problems and generate innovative solutions
- Able to extract, organize and analyze data, to make a proper diagnosis out of it
- Autonomous, accountable, collaborative, rigorous and proactive
- Curious and strong learner
- Knowledgeable about Office 365 Suite: Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, OneNote, an asset
- Bilingual (speaks / writes fluently) in French and English, essential
