Your role
The Lead Information Security Analyst will be a member of the corporate Cybersecurity team and will specifically oversee and be the subject matter expert for network security. The Lead Analyst will be responsible for executing network assessments and configurations to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements, identifying risks, and communicating the posture to the CBC/Radio-Canada Cybersecurity Committee (CSC).
The analyst provides technological advice and guidance to various groups within CBC/Radio-Canada Technology and various components. Collaborates with Management on the formulation of long term strategies for the deployment of Information Security technologies, processes and prepares planning documents as required. As technological change may affect the deployment of resources within organization, maintains strict confidentiality as to the nature and potential impact of such changes within the appropriate Management group.
Coordinates the efforts of professionals within various disciplines throughout the design and implementation processes, ensuring that stakeholders are properly consulted and operational impacts identified. Prepares detailed design documents and commits resources to bring those designs to completion. Ensures that assigned projects are implemented in an optimum manner, on time and within budget.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
Education/Experience:
- A university degree in the field of computer science, IT or Information Security
- The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience working within the technical arena with 3 plus years of information security work experience
Technical and soft skills:
- Excellent analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
- Extensive knowledge of security technology and risk assessment methodologies, policies and processes
- Must have the ability to work independently and multi-task effectively
- Must have experience implementing or assessing security in a cloud hosted environment
- This individual will have excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills including the ability to articulate to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong knowledge and experience with IP network designs and secure designed infrastructures including firewalls, routers, switches and access control
- Experience with compliance programs as well as their technical and security requirements
- Be familiar with Internet Filtering Technologies, DNS and fundamental scripting/programming/coding practices
- Knowledge/Experience in LANS, WANs, Routers, firewalls, IDS systems – Ability to scan large networks using vulnerability scan tools and write risk mitigation plans according to the assessment
- Requires knowledge in the following areas:
- Web infrastructure security
- Network security tools (IDS/IPS, firewalls, etc.)
- Encryption technologies and concepts
- Database architecture concepts
- Physical security controls
- Disaster recovery concepts
- Expertise with a wide variety of network security technologies
- Experience in security standards such as ISO 27001, 27002, 27005; NIST, COBIT, ITIL
- Technical certifications within the area Security are a strong plus (CISSP, CRISC, CBCP, CISA, CISM or equivalent)
- Ability to communicate in both official languages
- Ability to negotiate contracts with suppliers, protecting the best interests of CBC/Radio-Canada. Familiarity with contract law is an asset
- Job requires occasional travel several times per year for periods up to three days, depending upon project assignments
